What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is permanent hair removal through a series of treatments and is effective on all hair types. It is ideal for clients with fine, dark hairs or lightly colored hairs such as blond, red, gray. Electrolysis is your best option for expert detailed eyebrow shaping, treating small areas or thinning out peach fuzz. It can also be used as a follow up to our laser hair removal services, treating any remaining light hairs that the laser did not pick up.

The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) as well as the AMA (American Medical Association) recognize electrolysis as permanent hair removal. It has stood the test of time through many years, since it was first used in 1875.

How Does Electrolysis work?

Each hair is treated individually with a hair-thin prove. This probe is inserted down into the follicle, alongside the hair until it reaches the root. A small amount of heat is then applied to destroy the root. The hair is gently lifted from the follicle. Multiple treatments are required in order to completely destroy the hair follicle. Coarser hairs require more treatments than fine hairs, and the complete removal of an area requires more treatments than thinning out an area.

Laser Treatments: How Does It Work?

Our Laser incorporates heat and light to penetrate into the skin where the skin absorbs it into the pigmented hair follicles. this reduces the sensation of heat. Our hand piece incorporations a cooling system that provides thermal protection, numbing the skin prior to each pulse to help with mild discomfort.

What should I expect?

Laser treatments feel like a mild elastic band snapping against your skin. This is the lasers energy targeting the follicle. If needed, topical anesthetic creams are available and may be applied prior to your appointment to help numb the area. We also have a cooling system that helps minimize discomfort, and a cooling gel that is applied to the skin before we begin treatment.

The most common side effects are redness and mild swelling which can last anywhere from 15 minutes to 3-4 days depending on your routine.
